Dear Uncle Steve,

Received your letters dated March 6th and April 15th about two weeks ago, and was sure glad to hear from you. I am well at present.

No, I haven't seen Mr. Raithby for some time, and don't know where he is. He was well the last time I saw him. I am not in the trenches just now. I am out for a rest and training. I sent you a field card when I was in the trenches. Did you get it? I got three Chronicles from Ona, and I am always glad to get the Chronicle to get the home news. I saw several of the Dunnville boys a few days ago, and I am always glad to meet them. The weather here is fine. I am glad there is such a good turn-out at the Inman Road Sunday School. I get letters from home every week, and I get parcels too. Well, Steve I had some experience at the front and I am willing to do my share with the rest. We were living underground for a while. We had several steps to take to get to the surface, somewhere about 55 steps. However, we came through all right. Now I must close as it is getting late. Write soon, as I like to hear from the folks at home.
