Dear Sister
I received your letter yesterday I was waiting to hear from home as it is really the first letter I have received direct from home this one and the post card and letter sometimes the letters get mislaid and it is quite a time before you get them but this one came direct.
The letter I am answering now is the one you wrote on the fifteenth be sure to write every two weeks and I will do the same as it takes them so long on the way.
I had quite a time on leave visiting it took me all my time to see them all they were awful good to me. I left Sedgely about 10 oclock at night. Daves sister Florence came with me to Dudley Vincent met us at the bus we walked down to Dudley station and had to wait for the London train half an hour I am going back to see them when I can get leave of course we are not sure of getting it two to three weeks will finish our training we might get draft leave and we might not I would not be surprised if the next letter I receive I am in France.
Our officer commanding comes from around Nan, but I can't place him although he asked me if I did not come from such and such a place his name is the same as the outfit that used to live at the wharf.
A half dozen parcels left Vancouver and not got received one so register mine. I will be sending the photos in a little while the one emmie sent me of you is certainly good.
As to Church you need not worry we are paraded to different Churches every Sunday morning at 8.15 it is only about 15 minute walk to church mass is held in the Y.M.C.A. hut but Benediction is held in the Catholic Chapel every night in the week except Saturday night when we have confession.
Our priest I believe is a Canadian the first I have seen tell Elisha to write this is all this time with love to all from Sam.
I am anxious to get over there now if I get wounded I hope they take me to Birmingham as I will have somebody to come and see me Cousin Harry is feeling better but Gertie that is Dave's sister says she don't think he will last
Give my best regards to all
Sam
