Dear Mother:-

Received your letter of Sept 1st today, along with six other letters. They all came in a bunch and were the first mail I have had for a over a month so you can imagine how glad I was to get them. One letter was from Mame in regard to the money.

Probably you're received my letter by now in reply to the fountain pen I will write Aunt Sophie as soon as possible.

I am sure I wrote you several times acknowledging that cable but you can't have got any got any of them. and also that box of sugar. I got that early in the summer.

Ges Puns[?] is still at Witley I guess. I am going to drop him a line some of these days.

I don't expect to go up the line again for about two months. Perhaps it would be safe to address mail here for a while but don't address too many as I will have gone probably when they get here. The address is:- Wireless Section, Can. Corps. Signal School, B.E.F. France.

Please excuse the paper. I walked 2 miles to the YMCA tonight & couldn't get any so had to fall back on paper out of a note book.

The war news is great today isn't it.

I had a dandy feed today on black-berries & sugar. Some of us went & picked berries all the afternoon. They sure were plentiful.

I haven't heard from Sis since August. Probably her mail is going astray [?] to the changed in my address. She is still in N.Y., isn't she?

Well Mother I think I must close now.

With lots of love
Ludlow.
