Dear Mother:-

Well, Iam on my leave now and having a great time. We left the camp early yesterday morning (Monday) arrived in London at 8.30, we went directly thru the subway to Kings Cross Station and left for Edinburgh.

Edinburgh is a very pretty city with is quaint buildings and the old castle looming up in the background.

We stopped at York and Newcastle-on-Lyne on the way. At Durham I had a great view from the Train of old Durham Castle. It was very pretty.

You can see from the heading where Iam staying and we are treated most magnificiently. There are five of us in a room-all Truro fellows-with clean and excellent meals. The prices are moderate compared to what we get. They are 1s6d for bed, 1s3d for breakfast, 1s6d for dinner and 1s for supper.

I haven't been around the city any yet as we only arrived last evening. We are going to try and see the Castle today.

After I get back I'll write you and tell you everything I saw from beginning to end. I have time off until next Sat night.I expect to be a little time in London.

Overseas troops only can put up at Ramsay Lodge (another name for the place we are staying at) and among others are men from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and in face everywhere in the British Empire.

Well. I will close now but will write all about our trip later.

Lovingly
Ludlow
