Darling Mother,

Just a not bidding goodbye for a while to you and Canada. As far as I can judge there are very few troops on board and quite a number of civilians. though as yet I have not seen the lists nor has there been any meal in the saloon so I presume there will be very little to do except boat drill and read.

I had a very pleasant lunch at the St. Frances club with Major Cape and his wife and a quite jolly dinner with Sir Geo and Lady Bury en famille and a thrilling game of English Billiards afterward. I reported down here at 9.30 and was to g up to Major Cape's after but I feel so tired out and somewhat home sick that I decided to write you & Steve & go byebye which I shall now proceed to do.

You will notice that this is the same boat I came over on. If we have as good luck as the last time, we shall be quite happy.

Aunt Lila, Uncle Lou, Aunt Alice & Nucle Ed are all very anxious for you all to go down see them this winter and asked me to mention Dad specially.

What do you all want for Xmas?

Tell Stell that the kids are looking well enough. Edwin is becoming somewhat conceited but is still shy of a fight.

My best love to you all.

Yours,
Gordon
PS. This trip will bring my total mileage up over 40000.
