Berlin June 5th 1917
Dear Mr Shindhelm
You have probably already got my card. I should have written to you sooner but when your letter came, I was still on Slesia. I had first to settle here. The work has [?] such me particularly but one accustoms oneself slowly to it.
In any case I was very glad indeed to hear from you again I have often thought of you and of how you are faring.
As I gather from you letter, you are doing quite well, considering the circumstances. We shall hope that the end of the war is really not so far distant. I think that that is indeed the wish of every human being.
I hoping to hear from you again very soon I remain
Yours truly
Erna Ladewig
