Dear Mother & All:-

Descided to write a few lines to let you know that I still exist & have not heard from anyone at home for about a month. In my last I asked for money & if this is the cause of your silence I request that you take no notice of it as it is quite possible that money is quite scarce with Dad at this time of the year. I have been kicking myself ever since I mentioned it as I can readily see my money is easier earned than Dad's.

I recieved a parcel from Gladys & I am afraid I answered in a somewhat hasty manner & did not take time to show her how thankful I am. As I am using my last stamp & am bankrupt I wish you will explain to her that I was "out of sorts" when I wrote for I hadn't heard from you for so long. It was not only that. I was detailed with a number of other fellows to be transferred to the Canadian Army Service Corp. in London but when were examined by the doctor one of the fellows was found with the mumps & we're now in quarantine for a month & it is quite likely I have lost a good job. No you can see why I had the "bleus" for disappointment was no name for it.

There is no more news as I am shut up in a hut with a guard at the door. Now please drop a line.

Hoping "All's Well"

Your Loving Son

Roy.
