Dear mother

I hope you are all quite well, thank you for your letter we are still getting along fine, I never saw the weather so fine in the fall before we havent had any rain for a month nearly.

I had a bath the other day & a change of clothes, when you go to the Baths you get a change, if you hand in a pair of underdraws shirt sox & towel you get the same in exchange, only clean ones We are resting in the day time & working in the Trenches at night now, & are billeted in a big loft, two of the Boys are looking through their shirts for friends, just by me, & by their remarks are having lots of luck, I think I am clean myself sinse I had a Bath, but I wouldnt like to swear to it.

Old Willie ever get the repair's for his motor Cycle yet, it must be nice on the roads at Home now even these roads are good right now.

I dont think there is anything I need in the clothes line just now the gloves are fine & so are the socks. I've been expecting a letter from maggie right along but it hasnt come yet.

I shall have to close now because they are calling me to fall in for the working party so I shall have to go

Give my love to all at Home

I remain

your loving Son

Tommy.
