Dear mother

Thank you for your Parcel, which I got yesterday the candy was fine, we had a very wet spell out here lately but yesterday & today have been fine so far, & it looks like as if it had took up for a time.

I met one of the C[?] from Drayton out here last night, he's a Sargent in one of the Canadian Regiments he's Billeted close to us he's the one that was on the R.N.W.M.P in Canada.

The front along here is pretty quiet, very little going on except artillary fire.

I've got lots of Warm clothes now, thank you for asking, & my shows are pretty good too, we can get clothes easier out here than we could get them in England.

It has taken me about 2 Hours to write this letter so far, I cant think of anything to say I never did shine as a letter writer, & when they wont let you say the things that be interesting they got me beaten.

I never felt better in my life than I do just now.

Give my love to them all at Home, you must be awful busy just now being so short of men. Give my love to Emmie
I remain
Your loving Son

Tommy.
