Dear Mother

It is quite some time since I had a letter from you. I am quite well and going along pretty good.

The weather has broken up again and warmed quite nice but very windy.

Tell Hugh to write to me sometime, I would be very delighted to get a letter from him, with all the news of the country , about the boys & girls, & all my married cousins.

It is sometime now since I had a letter from Maggie, I think that the mail must have been held up lately.

All being well we are having a concert in camp on Sunday evening next, there are quite a lot of LCO's coming though this camp on their way to Holland. It makes one quite homesick to see them going, let me know if you can up to what date it effects the LCO's from the letters that we get from Holland, they seem to be having a very good time. A friend of mine will be going in about a week, Sarg. Mag. Heaton of the Ryal Irish Regt. He was captured in 1914, a very nice fellow.

Well I hope that it wont be so long now before I see you all again, I didn't get the books yet that you wrote about for me but I hope they will be along soon now.

When does Sam's sale come off, I hope that he has a good one.

If you can I wish you would send me a couple of pairs of socks, I had the misfortune to have one pair stole of me a while ago, & a good tooth brush, also a hair brush.

Give my love to all at home & to Emmy & her babies.

Remember me to Mr. & Mrs. Arky.

I remain your loving son

Tom
