Mr. W.H. Downs
Lakefield, Ontario.

Dear Sir: -

I am informed by Mr. W. Hockaday, in charge of my property, that you are cutting wood thereon. There may be some misunderstanding on Mr. Hockaday's part as to the exact location of the line, but I should like to hear from you just what you are doing.

You may remember that we went over that line in November 1915, on the occasion of a lawsuit you had involving this same question. We agreed then that the present line fence is not quite correct, taking Mr. F. Hockaday's line fence as being correct in location and direction. According to the determinations we then made, the line fence is about twelve feet too far in on my property at the road end, and about thirty five feet too far in on my property at the lake end. A compass survey that I made subsequently confirmed our findings, and also the error you then pointed out to me in the location of the concession line. I enclose a blue print of this survey I made, and the approximately correct position of the boundary line between our properties indicated thereon by yellow line. We spoke of putting [page torn] a new line fence and sharing the expense. If you care about do[page torn] this I shall be glad to join you in it. In any case I should [page torn] glad to hear from you, Care above address.

With best wishes for the New Year, and regards [page torn] friends.

Yours truly [page torn]
