Oyster River
June 23/39
Dear Folks;-
Have just finished cleaning and airing our camp after quite a spell of rain - it rained very heavily yesterday & the weather does not look at all settled yet - but still we are keeping dry etc.
We have moved our camp just East of the Hotel & have quite a pretty spot & more private then before. The men who are getting the place for the bridge were very good & carried one of the shelters bodily over for us, so we are settled very comfortably again.
It nearly broke our hearts to see them cutting down those lovely trees in the park (about half of them) It's quite a job getting Billy to write- but I guess he's getting at it now. He will tell you about the fine fishing he had yesterday, two very large ones.
I suppose you got your tea-party over all right.
Things are pretty quiet around here - except the men preparing for the new bridge.
Sorry to hear about the stove. I guess the only thing to do is have the chimney cleaned. Has Humphrey been around yet? Ruby should not have bothered about the wood - its very good of her.
Remembrance to all.
Dad
