Dear Betty;-

Yours received this p.m. glad you got the fish in good condition - wish I could let you have more. I am getting a few every day. Received a tin of worms on Saturday - but don't know whether Tordy or Goodchild send them - it was nice of them anyway - for they are scarce here.

Sorry you are not coming to the River. Have they given the Clee boys up as lost? It is certainly a tragedy. I shall have a cozy camp for Billy with lots of firewood etc. so that he can spend all his time on the river, or as he likes. Tell him to bring a piece of bacon & a tin of coffee, he need not bother about anything else - unless you make a batch of shortbread. The "Vonk" is in at Comox & a number of officers come down everyday to fish. There are still some bad fires North of here - it is certainly a bad year for them - wish it would rain for a day or two.

Did you read "Street Corners" in Saturday's Province by Tordy It was very good it gave him most of the information about [Mirror?]. Am looking forward to Billy coming - it will not be long now.

Remember me to Shirley & Grandma. I had a letter from Esterbrook a couple of weeks ago - but have not answered it yet.

Will enclose a line or two to Bill. Don't bother about sending the pension cheques - they will do when I return.

Good-night for now.

Will
