OUR FILE J95288 (R-4)
OTTAWA, Canada, 26th February, 1946.
Mr. A.H.J. Gould,
133 Bowie Avenue,
Toronto 10, Ontario.
Dear Mr. Gould:
A report has been received at this Headquarters from the Graves Registration Unit Overseas concerning the burial particulars of your son, Pilot Officer Albert Norman Gould, and his crew members.
This report states that your son and his crew were all buried in a communal grave in the Hoisten Civil Cemetery, Germany. The grave designation being given as Row 11, Grave No. 3.
The reverent care of the burial places of all who served in the Forces of the British Empire is the task of the Imperial War Graves Commission. Already eminent architects are at work, planning the construction of beautiful cemeteries, and each individual grave will be supported and sustained by the nations of the Empire. I hope it may be of some consolation to you to know that your gallant son's grave is in sacred care and keeping.
May I again extend my most sincere sympathy in the loss of your gallant son.
Yours sincerely,
N Rudford F/O
R.C.A.F. Casualty Officer,
for Chief of the Air Staff.
