Dear Father;
Your letter of Jan 2nd arrived last night, and am taking the opportunity of answering it now, as I have a little spare time. I was very pleased to hear that you managed to get to Malvern at both Xmas and New Year, and I hope you managed to enjoy yourself as much as possible under the circumstances. I am very sorry to hear that Grandma is ill. I do hope that she is getting better, and I will drop her a line or two tomorrow if possible and try to cheer her up. I think that is what she needs most, as I know that she has so much to worry her
