Dear Father,-

Just a few limes to let you know that I am quite well, and to thank you for the parcel which arrived today. Everything arrived in good condition, though the cover was damaged.

I only have time for a very few lines, as I want to write home. I sent a short letter to Doris yesterday , but I still have several letters to write.

Young Lewis is still here, and I believe he is to stay in my company. Did I ever tell you that the two Greenard boys are in this battalion. One of them worked in the mill for you for a few days or so didnt he?

Did you ever manage to get a glass for my watch? It doesnt matter much anyway. I wouldn't take it to an English jeweler if it ever needed repairing. I dont think they do very good work as a rule on American watches. Well I must close for tonight.

You Affectionate Son
George
