Dearest Betty:-

Just a line to let you know that I have received the $100, O.K. I call at the Bank this morning (Tuesday) & was surprised to find that they had received the cable rather quick work eh? I cabled on Saturday from Blackburn. I met Lady Low this evening she was here to dinner we had a very pleasant time, shall be retuning to Shorncliffe on Friday & hope in a couple of weeks to be starting out for Canada, I shall not feel easy until I am safely on the way - for with all this terrible fighting taking place the authorities are liable to do anything they are in such need of men it would indeed be a most bitter disappointement to be sent back to France now would it not? however we will not think about it, but continue to look forward to the meeting. McCoral[?] was in London today & I tried to get him on the phone but could not - I am also hoping to see Eric Hargraves sometimes before I leave, & shall be spending Thursday night with Mr Bailne[?]. How slow the days will seem to go until I see you. Did you get a letter before you receive the cable, telling you about the granting of my application? I wrote telling you about the 13th March "Fool[?] Night" once more, heaps of love & kisses

Daddy.
