Roffey Camp
July 17th 1917

Dear Father & Mother -

Move to this camp from Shorncliffe last Saturday morning and we are now about 35 miles from London. This is about 60 miles from our camp at Risboro. 2/3 of the men who came here got into huts but we are in tents. This shows the YMCA and also Roffey ½ miles and Horsham 2 miles from our camp

Our drill here is different. It includes digging trenches, gun pits and platforms, moving heavy guns and of course gun drill. They have several different sizes some of which are muzzle loaders 6 inch and on which we will practise firing. Hope to have some more mail soon. Bye Bye for now
