My Dear Sister:

I received your letter of Dec 26th yesterday so will answer it now while I have a little time. Also, received one today from Eliz dated Jan 5th and she is apparently not having an exciting time. She expects to be getting leave soon and I trust she will be able to visit some place of interest and enjoy the time she gets.

So you managed to visit Guelph fom Xmas. The chicken & cranberries were doubtless good, not to mention the other things. Cranberries would be quite tasty to me just now, as well as many other things. However we have been faring very well, and have only to look at what the German people have, and what prices they have to pay, to know how lucky we really are. Of course we have to give the YMCA credit for getting the stock over to us. Most of the goods are from Canada. I had expected more Can. mail today but did not get any. Possibly it will be here tomorrow.

Leave is still open and we have men going every few days. It is quite a trip from here. I do not expect my turn will come again in this war unless we all get leave should we go to England. I note the Paris cards also snaps reached home OK. They will be souvenirs anyway. Will have more to send soon.

I am a little interested in the Kearney preparations and am already thinking about some of the big trout I am going to catch. Kearney is still a long way off but still quite possible to reach by about May or June.

Our life is much the same. Visited Cologne on Wednesday. Got paid today 30 marks and tomorrow morning I expect to visit the Dentist in Bonn.

It is still raining more or less every day or so but not at all cold. Expect I will be on guard again about tomorrow night or Sunday.

Think this is about all just now. You might please forward this letter home.

Love to all
Rob
