Dear Mother
I received you long looked for letter am glad to hear all are well there is no war news I have heard of different from what I have already sent only we are Brigaded with the Gordon Highland Regt the Cornwalls & Shropshire Regts. we move in the third fighting line we may see it but we will not have much to do as far as fighting is concerned unless there is a big change Lord B[?] passed through Belmont with Lord Kitchner yesterday for the Front I was on duty and did not see them it is pretty hot but I dont mind the heat I am getting used to the climate and I rather like you may expect us back some where between 24th May & first of June unless something very serious happens for we will be on our road home in two months the British are going to move ahead now they have lots troops ammunition provisions everything dont believe any reports you hear even here we cannot believe anything dont be anxious about me I am coming home depend on that so good Bye love to all
