Letter
Dear Madam,
No doubt you have by now been informed of the death of your son who had served in my Company for so long. I discovered the snaps in his pocket and thought you would like to have them.
On September 9, 1916, I recommended your son for the Military Medal for his untiring efforts in taking in wounded men from the front line. Your son will never be forgotten. He was awarded the Military Medal some weeks ago. No doubt the medal will be forwarded to you in due time.
Regretting that I can do no more to alleviate your sufferings, I am
Respectfully yours,
P.A. Alexander - Captain
