Some Where in France
Apr. 17-17
Dear Sister,-
I am writing again and I guess that you will be surprised but pleased to hear from me that is so soon after my last letter, well I am still in a convalscent camp but expect to go to the base any day so I don't suppose it will be long before I will be back up the line, but if it is as wet as when I was up last time I don't think it would be long before I am down again with rheumatism because the wet does not agree with me at all.
Well the way things are going at present it does not look as if the war could last so much longer but of course we cant tell it may last longer than any of us expect, but if Uncle Sam would send over some troops it might help hurry up the end I hope so anyway.
I am still patiently waiting for a letter from home but it begins to look as if I would have to give up all hope, this letter is for mother to see and have her let me know if she is getting my money alwright and I hope mother & Louise are both well the bugle has just blown for tea so I will close hoping you & Walter and all the family are in the best of health, With lots of love
Your Loving Brother
